Montreal, Canada – Bringing warmth and a special highlight to the coldest time of the year, Rhum Barbancourt and Crillon Importers are joining in the Montreal En Lumiere winter festival for the first time. Montreal En Lumiere is one of the largest winter festivals in the world, drawing nearly 1 million people to the joy of wintertime, including gastronomy, performing arts, outdoor activities and more. This year’s festival offers a spotlight on Haiti, home to Rhum Barbancourt.
Rhum Barbancourt, the “rum of connoisseurs,” includes Pango Rhum, White Rhum, Rhum Barbancourt 3 Star (aged four years), Rhum Barbancourt Reserve Speciale (5 Star, aged eight years) and Rhum Barbancourt Estate Reserve (aged 15 years). Rhum Barbancourt will be participating in the following festival events:
- Haiti’s Tourism Ministry Kiosk, February 20-March 2: Throughout the festival, Rhum Barbancourt will be part of Haiti’s noteworthy tourism kiosk – a school bus that will be converted into a Tap Tap.
- An Evening with Dany Laferriere, February 20: Haiti is a country rich in art and culture. Dany Laferriere, the winner of the 2009 Medici, will speak about a mixture of all the beautiful things Haiti has to offer.
- Kanaval Kanpe, February 22: Known as “the” party of February, this fundraiser for Haiti is organized by Regine Chassagne, lead singer of Grammy-winning Arcade Fire and co-founder of the Kanpa Foundation. A Montreal version of the Haitian Carnival, this celebration includes arts, culture, music, food, drinks and conviviality.
- Repas Convivial Hosted by Haiti, March 1: Held at the gorgeous and historic Marche Bonsecours, this grand dinner will host more than 400 guests, who can enjoy the finest rhum with their meal.
“We are thrilled to be part of both Je Love Haiti and Montreal En Lumiere, among many others,” said Michael Yarema, Senior VP of Sales, Crillon Importers. “We enjoy sharing the world’s finest rhum while meeting and mingling with new friends and fans.”
