There’s rum, and there’s Haitian rum. There are festivals and there is the South Beach Food and Wine Festival, one of South Florida’s grandest celebrations. Rhum Barbancourt is gearing up for this year’s participation in the Grand Tasting Village, Best of The Munchies, and Cigars and Spirits. The festival features world-renowned chefs, culinary experts, and wine and spirit producers from around the world.
Come taste what makes our rum so special!
At Cigars and Spirits held on February 20 from 11 PM-1 AM, visitors can indulge in exclusive spirits from the Southern Wine and Spirits of Florida portfolio while smoking premium cigars. We would love to see you atop The Betsy, where we will be serving our signature Creole Old Fashioned and Estate Reserve in a souvenir snifter.
For an array of the Festival’s finest cuisines, people are invited to Best of The Munchies held on February 22 from 6-9PM at the festival’s North Venue. Rhum Barbancourt will be sampling the classic Hotel Oloffson favorite, César’s Punch, the Creole Caipirinha and the Berryville made with Pango Rhum. Each cocktail embodies a classic tiki vibe while highlighting the rum that has delighted taste buds since Dupré Barbancourt immigrated to Haiti from the Cognac region of France over 150 years ago.
From February 20th-22nd, the sands of South Beach will play host the Grand Tasting Village. This year, Rhum Barbancourt will sample all five rums for tasting, Blanc (White), Pango Rhum, 3 Star | aged 4 years, Reserve Speciale (5 Star) | aged 8 years, and Estate Reserve | aged 15 years. This year, we are excited to share our latest recipes; Blanco y Picante, a spicy libation made with our White Rhum; the Pango Smoke, a tropical cocktail made with grilled pineapple juice and Pango Rhum; and the tiki classic César’s Punch.
The real excitement comes from the master behind this year’s tiki cocktails.
Cesar Diaz of The Ice Plant, one of Florida’s hottest bars, has hand-crafted the menu for SOBEWFF to imbibe one. César commented, “Without Rhum Barbancourt, these tiki cocktails would just taste ordinary, but with the rum’s inclusion, the taste just enhances. It’s a modern twist on old tiki classics. We use fresh ingredients along with Barbancourt to help people relate to the brand’s values and versatility.” We truly hope attendees enjoy the menu as much as we do!
